Oliver James is not a conglomerate or an online robot, Oliver James is just me, and this article will hopefully answer any questions you may have about the Oliver behind the Oliver James Coaching.

My early fitness story
Like many young people, I developed a passion for sport at a young age. I literally played every sport going: gymnastics, football, and athletics, you name it, I did it.
I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t always good at these sports. I learned early on that to achieve anything worthwhile requires consistency, personal application, and commitment. However the sports I truly excelled in were team sports (especially Lacrosse and Rugby Union) and this desire to connect with others, to work together towards a mutual goal, has continued through in to my professional life today.
From school I went on to study sports development and fitness. However I believe my real achievement was converting my academic know how in to an easy to follow and effective application: my online fitness and nutrition programme.
Building my credentials
I started working as a personal trainer in Manchester and Cheshire helping clients achieve their health and fitness goals, all while laying the foundations for building a trusted reputation.
I realised that I wanted to help people my own way and so I created Oliver James Personal Training Ltd in 2008. This allowed me to train people in a way that works for my clients – outside of the gym. It encouraged me not just to train them, but to coach them on their mindset and nutrition. It gave me a chance to truly change peoples lives as I could guide them through a process to create sustainable results.
During my time as a personal trainer, I wanted to support new people in to the industry and worked part time as a teacher, training future fitness instructors and personal trainers. The teaching provided me with a way to educate and help them apply their new knowledge. I also visited primary schools with Olympic athletes to inspire the future generations, helping them aim high, think big, and achieve their dreams.
My A-Ha moment
Early on I identified that for my clients to succeed, I had to accompany each one on their individual journey. It was the only way I could really understand their frustrations, barriers, and confusions. By truly getting to know each person and discovering a process that would work for them, I helped them overcome their barriers and achieve their goals. I realised that I couldn’t do the programme for them, I could only guide them and cheer them on from the sidelines, which is when I knew I had to put the client in the driving seat in order to take control of their health.
This is where my coaching programme was born. I found that my experience in teaching, personal training, nutrition, and inspiring people could all work together. It allows each and every client I’ve had the pleasure of working with, to take control of their health and revel in the amazing results its delivered.
And I want to help more people.
The only way to do this is to deliver my ‘Take Control’ health programme, online. Doing so has allowed me to help coach more people, regardless of their location, and I know there are many more out there who want to take control of their health and achieve their goals.
This online coaching programme has opened new doors, not just for me, but for you too. Its allowed me to offer an effective and affordable service for everyone – Including you. The ‘Take Control’ programme has allowed me to build an online community of friendly and encouraging, like-minded people.

1. Life is for living. To live life to the full, you must have good health.
2. It’s more important to include healthier food choices, rather than deny yourself of foods you enjoy.
3. A healthy life is one that involves some exercise, a diet that’s nutritious, and a lifestyle that’s active
4. Acquiring good health doesn’t have to be difficult.
5. You can still enjoy yourself and be healthy.
6. Good health includes good mental wellbeing and a positive body image.
Not everyone wants to be a cover model or live the life of one (this requires sacrifice, numerous hours in the gym, and a strict diet). You don’t have to take things to the extreme to achieve amazing results. Most people just want to be healthier, improve their body composition, and be happier. This can be easily achieved with the correct programme, structure, and mindset.
You don’t need to reinvent the wheel and you most certainly don’t need to do a handbrake turn and speed off in a different direction. The structure of my programme allows each participant to achieve amazing results through an easy process that changes your direction just 2 degrees each module. Before you know it you will be looking in a different direction and realise it wasn’t as hard as you initially thought.
